The History Of MoneyTree
On October 31st, 1983, in a town called Renton, Washington, MoneyTree opened its first branch. Three owners ran that business together, and their names are Dennis Bassford, Dave Bassford, and Sara Bassford. They were everything in one: payment center staff, teller, and managers. They helped customers, cleaned the store, and did the accounting, as well as dealt with any returned checks from the bank.
In 1985, MoneyTree opened their second store on Fairview Avenue, and the company began offering cash advance loans in Boise, Idaho in 1988. Over the next six years MoneyTree opened one to two stores every 12 to 18 months, growing at a steady rate. By 1994 MoneyTree stores could be found all around Washington and Idaho. In 1998 the company began entering California, continuing to Nevada in 1999 and Colorado in 2003.
More services have since been added since the first branch opened in 1983. Not only does MoneyTree offer check cashing services and cash advance loans, the company also has money orders, fax services, and Western Union services. MoneyTree sells postage stamps, pre-paid gift cards, pre-paid phone cards, and prepaid MasterCard debit cards. MoneyTree even has Coin Tree coin counting machines at some of their locations.
MoneyTree is politically involved at both the state and federal levels. The company is involved with state and national trade associations, and MoneyTree strives to give back to the communities in which they operate. MoneyTree believes that they are leaders in the industry of customer service, with a terrific work environment, and the company strives to maintain the upmost professionalism in the business.
Among all the states that MoneyTree operates in, there are 125 branches open today. Every month, new stores open up, and MoneyTree would love for customers to visit them to see how hard the company strives for excellence.
MoneyTree would be happy to hear from customers that have comments, questions, concerns or suggestions. Customers can reach MoneyTree by calling their Headquarters at 1-800-745-1011.
